Dong Thap province’s culture introduced in Hanoi
PANO - The Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, in collaboration with Dong Thap provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, launched a Mid-autumn Festival, themed “Colors of Dong Thap province”, on September 30 in Hanoi.
The program is an opportunity for children to enjoy folk toys and games as well as explore the typical cultural values of people in Dong Thap province through many interesting activities.
In addition, the museum also organized many programs related to the traditional Mid-autumn Festival such as making folk toys, moon cakes, Com Vong (Vietnamese green rice flakes from the famous Vong village); participating in some folk games and more. These are annual activities to help children learn more about the nation’s diverse traditional cultures.
In addition, the program also focuses on a combination of Southern and Northern cultural features through the lion dance performances, the experience of making moon cakes, and folk game playing.
Through this program, the organizing panel hoped that children would acquire valuable experiences of the traditional Mid-autumn Festival as well as learn more about the culture of Dong Thap province.
