Art program gives in-depth view on 80 years of VPA
PANO - An art program entitled “Historical Path” taking place on December 21 evening at Hanoi-based Vietnam Military History Museum recaptured heroic moments of the country and glorious construction and development history of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA).
The event was to celebrate the 80th founding anniversary of the VPA and the 35th Whole-People Defense Festive Day.

The program brought audience back to “the path of independence” featuring the birth and development of the VPA as an inevitable requirement of the revolution and history of the nation, "the path of reunification" reappearing legendary paths to the victorious resistance war against the U.S. imperialists for national reunification, and the "the path to a new era" spreading President Ho Chi Minh's teaching of struggling to consolidate peace and achieving national unification, independence, and democracy.

Some 3,000 artists and troops participated in this event.
At the event, 80 best paintings of a drawing contest named “I love soldiers” launched by the Vietnam Television, the Ministry of National Defense and the two other agencies were displayed. The paintings demonstrated love and trust of young citizens of the country in Uncle Ho’s soldiers.

Also at the event, Defense Minister General Phan Van Giang presented a 80 years of the VPA badge to village patriarch Kso H’Lam from Krong village, Ia Mor commune, Chu Prong district, Gia Lai province in recognition of her contribution to the country. In the anti-U.S. resistance war, she was a brave soldier. In peacetime, she has assisted the villagers in economic development and elimination of backward customs.
