The event was attended by Brigadier General Ameer Muhammad Umrani, Deputy Force Commander of UNISFA; Chol Deng Alak, Head of the Abyei Administrative Area; and representatives from other countries. Deputy Director of the Vietnam Department for Peacekeeping Operations and Head of the delegation of the Ministry of National Defense, Senior Colonel Mac Duc Trong who was on a working visit to the mission attended the event.

In his speech, Sr. Col. Trong briefed delegates on the glorious tradition of the VPA over the past 80 years, emphasizing that since 2014, the VPA has participated in the U.N. peacekeeping operations and achieved significant results, receiving high praise from the U.N.
On behalf of the UNISFA Command, Brigadier General Ameer Muhammad Umrani acknowledged and praised the contribution of the Vietnam peacekeeping force to building global peace. He highlighted that the Vietnamese peacekeeping force in the UNISFA has always been dedicated, professional, and responsible in their work, actively carrying out mass mobilization activities and supporting the local community in Abyei through practical actions, thus enhancing the reputation of the U.N. Peacekeeping Force.

Representing the Abyei administration and people, Chol Deng Alak said that Vietnamese soldiers are always close, warm, and connected with the local community. People of Abyei are very grateful to Vietnamese soldiers for clearing and improving drainage systems to prevent flooding, constructing roads, building classrooms, and sending teachers to educate local people. “For us, Vietnamese soldiers have become a part of the local community” he added.
The celebration featured various activities, such as screening film; an exhibition on photos, books, traditional costumes, and handicraft products; a cuisine space. At the event, members of the third Engineering Company and units from Nepal and Ghana performed songs and dances in praise of the glorious Party, the great President Ho Chi Minh, and the heroic military. The event concluded with a campfire program themed "Continuing feats-of-arms – Enriching tradition – Living up to the title of Uncle Ho's Soldiers."
