Ho Chi Minh City boosts ties with Lao province
PANO - Delegations of the People’s Council of Ho Chi Minh City of Vietnam and of the Lao province of Champasak, led by their chairpersons Nguyen Thi Quyet Tam and Meksa Vanh Phomphithat, respectively, had a meeting on September 25 in Ho Chi Minh City.
Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Quyet Tam emphasized the development of the traditional friendship and special ties between Vietnam and Laos in a deeper and effective manner with diverse cooperation forms at national and local levels, including the close and active cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and Champasak province.
The participants also exchanged issues of common concern, including advantages, disadvantages and challenges facing the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Council recently and associated measures, settlement of people’s complaints and denunciations, communication mechanisms and information dissemination, reality of legal documents-related supervision and implementation and personnel training.
The Champasak provincial People’s Committee hopes to apply this usefully-provided information and experience to their real work.
