PANO - "Vietnam has full historical evidence and legal grounds to prove its sovereignty over the Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagoes," Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affaris Le Hai Binh said on November 29 in reply to a reporter’s query on Vietnam’s reaction to a drill at sea conducted by Taiwan on November 28 in the Ba Binh (Itu Aba Island) area in Vietnam’s Truong Sa archipelago.

He added, "Vietnam resolutely opposes Taiwan conducting a drill in the area that belongs to Vietnam’s Truong Sa archipelago. Taiwan’s organization of the drill in Ba Binh area in Vietnam’s Truong Sa archipelago is a serious violation of Vietnam’s territorial sovereignty over the archipelago, threatening peace, stability, security, navigation safety, increasing tensions, and complicating the situation in the East Sea (South China Sea).
“Vietnam resolutely protests and demands Taiwan not to repeat similar activities.”
