PANO – More than 190 pictures and photos, documentary films and books about Vietnam’s sea and islands are being showcased at an exhibition, opened by the Department of Politics of Military Zone 9 on December 20th in Can Tho City.
The showcased photos are divided into 4 themes, including general overview of Vietnam’s sea and islands; President Ho Chi Minh’s love, concern and thoughts about sea and islands; typical characteristics of Vietnam’s sea and islands; and Vietnam’s Navy with the mission of defending national sovereignty over sea and islands.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Colonel Tran Hoai Trung, Political Deputy Director of Military Zone 9, stressed that this important exhibition helps the unit’s troops and local people further understand the role, significance and potential of Vietnam’s sea and islands. This in turn arouses their love for sea and islands, as well as promotes their confidence in the Party and State’s leadership and the Army’s role in defending national sovereignty over sea and islands.
The exhibition will run until December 27th.
