Delegates from Ho Chi Minh City visit troops and islanders
PANO - On November 11, as part of their visit to the Southwestern waters, the delegation from Ho Chi Minh City and units visited and presented gifts to local authorities, units, and islanders stationed on Tho Chau Island, Phu Quoc city, Kien Giang province.
The delegation led by Rear Admiral Pham Nhu Xuan, Second-in-command of the Naval Service.
At the island commune, the delegation and units offered incense at Tho Chau Temple.

The delegation from Ho Chi Minh City also visited and encouraged units stationed in Tho Chau island commune of Military Region 9, the Naval Service, the Vietnam Border Guard, the Vietnam Coast Guard, the lighthouse station, as well as the Party committee and local authorities of Tho Chau Island.
Ho Chi Minh City also presented a water filtration system to Radar Station 610 under Navy Region 5 while the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union Organization organized various activities for the children and students on the island.

Earlier, the delegates visited officials and soldiers stationed at DK1/10 platform. Over the past time, the troops have overcome difficulties so as to improve their competence and complete their assigned missions to protect national sovereignty at sea. Especially, troops at DK1/10 platform have been taken care of by Naval Region 2’s Party Committee and Command and the DK1 Battalion, as well as the support of people across the country, particularly from Ho Chi Minh City.
During their visit to units stationed in Tho Chau island commune and DK1/10 platform, the delegation presented meaningful gifts to troops, islanders, and needy households; and scholarships to students, among others.
