Tam Giang - Cau Hai Wetland Nature Reserve through the lens
PANO - Tam Giang-Cau Hai lagoon system and Ru Cha mangrove forest in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue have become a wetland nature reserve under the decision of the provincial People’s Committee.
Covering an area of more than 2,000 hectare, the Tam Giang - Cau Hai Wetland Nature Reserve is comprised of two zones, namely O Lau and Con Te - Ru Cha. It also includes 23 aquatic species protection areas in 23 communes and towns in Quang Dien, Phong Dien, Phu Vang, Phuc Loc districts and Huong Tra Town.
The reserve aims to restore habitats and important ecological systems, biodiversity, and aquatic resources in the Tam Giang - Cau Hai lagoon system, including a sea grass ecosystem in Con Te of Huong Tra Town, freshwater aquatic plants in O Lau estuary of Phong Dien district, and a mangrove ecosystem in Ru Cha of Huong Tra Town.
It is also part of the efforts to preserve and promote the potential of Tam Giang – Cau Hai lagoon system, contributing to attracting more tourists to the area.
