Thanks to the preservation of traditional cultural values, Ha Giang has attracted more and more visitors.

The unique feature is also demonstrated via the successful organization of the tenth Tam giac mach (Buckwheat) Flower Festival, marking the 10-year presence of the festival on the tourism map. Localities have focused on planting buckwheat flowers in large areas, with hundreds of hectares, creating eye-catching spots to attract tourists. They have also organized artistic programs featuring the breath of the rocky highlands, ethnic costume competitions, and more.

Through the festival, the district aims to preserve and promote the traditional cultural values of ethnic minority groups; honor the unique values and beautiful images of life and people in the locality; and popularize and introduce local tourism products to visitors. During the festival, Dong Van district attracted more than 13,000 visitors.

In order to upgrade infrastructure and create highlights to attract visitors to the 10th Buckwheat Flower Festival, Dong Van has built and renovated 12 tourist landmarks in key communes and townlets. In the process of planning and developing the locality, it is necessary to preserve traditional features, not disrupt the landscape and geological features of the rocky highlands.

The projects with resources mobilized from the society, including shopping centers, food, and entertainment areas, are built in the style of the traditional architecture of the H’mong people. The performance center will provide opportunities for visitors to join exchange activities, including folk singing and dancing, cultural activities, and nighttime entertainment, to name but a few.

Formed in late 2016 and put into operation in April 2019, the village has become a highlight in preserving the H’mong ethnic culture and attracting tourists for sightseeing and accommodation.

Nguyen Thi Hang, the owner of Meo Vac Clay House homestay, shared that in addition to providing accommodation and dining services, the homestay has organized cultural and artistic programs featuring H’mong culture, such as campfires, to offer visitors many exciting experiences. The homestay has leased agricultural land from local people to cultivate seasonal clean vegetables. This not only creates jobs and provides stable income for the locals but also offers a source of clean food to serve visitors. Currently, Meo Vac Clay House provides regular employment for 8-10 local workers with a monthly income ranging from VND 7 to 10 million.
