Preparations for 9th Vietnam-China Border Defense Friendship Exchange inspected

Joining the delegation were Senior Colonel Jiangbo, Chinese Defense Attaché to Vietnam; leaders of the Vietnam Border Guard Command, the Department of Foreign Relations under the Ministry of National Defense, the Lang Son provincial People’s Committee, and other relevant agencies and units.

Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien directly inspected several locations where key activities of the exchange will take place, including Huu Nghi International Border Gate, the construction site of Dong Dang Primary School, and the Viettel Lang Son Logistics Park. At each site, he encouraged and presented gifts to the forces carrying out their assigned tasks.

Following the on-site inspections, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien listened to recommendations from units under the Ministry of National Defense and local authorities. In his directive remarks, he emphasized that 2025 marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Vietnam and China (January 18, 1950 - 2025). Therefore, the 9th Vietnam-China Border Defense Friendship Exchange holds significant importance in fostering friendship and cooperation between the two nations' militaries, the border protection forces, the local authorities, and the people in shared border areas.

He called on relevant agencies and units to uphold their sense of responsibility, coordinate closely, and accelerate the preparation progress. He also stressed the importance of working closely with China to finalize program content and scenarios. Additionally, he highlighted the need to ensure healthcare and absolute security and safety for participants and vehicles involved in the event.
