The event was co-organized by the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion and the National Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation and the Vietnam Red Cross Society (VRCS)'s chapters in 42 cities and provinces.

Many provinces have distinguished themselves with excellent results in the drive, including Can Tho (3,000 blood units), Binh Dinh (2,634 units), Ba Ria - Vung Tau (2,493), Son La (2,245), Kien Giang (2,173).

The program has seen the participation of people from all walks of life, including local leaders.

The eighth “Red Journey” blood donation campaign will take place in 10 other cities and provinces, running in Ho Chi Minh City, Tay Ninh, Thai Nguyen, Phu Tho, An Giang, Thanh Hoa, Hai Duong, Thua Thien-Hue, Tuyen Quang, and Vinh Phuc, and then finally concluding in Hanoi.

It is expected that about 1,000 volunteers nationwide will join the program on August 1 and 2 in Hanoi.

Ben Tre, Hau Giang, Soc Trang, and Tay Ninh provinces will participate in this event for the first time.
