Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army and Deputy Defense Minister Sr. Lt. Gen. Nguyen Tan Cuong attended the event. 

Dao Dinh Luyen street, 1.42 km long, 30m wide, has two lanes, 7.5m road-bed, 3m median strip, and 6m pavements on each side. The street starts from the intersection of Doan Khue - Dao Van Tap streets in Vinhomes Riverside urban area to the T-junction of Nguyen Van Linh street at No.41, the headquarters of the Inland Clearance Depot under the Vietnam Maritime Corporation.

Apart from Dao Dinh Luyen street, four other streets were named after four Vietnamese celebrities Dao Hinh, Dao The Tuan, Ta Dong Trung, and Vu Dinh Tung.

The street is named after Dao Dinh Luyen, a military general.
Senior Lieutenant General Dao Dinh Luyen (1929-1999), was born into a peasant family in Quynh Hoi commune, Quynh Phu district, Thai Binh province. He joined the revolution in March 1945. He was the former Chief, Political Commissar, and Secretary of the Party Committee of the Air Defense - Air Force Service (1977-1986); former Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, and Deputy Defense Minister (1991-1996). He was a member of the sixth and seventh Party Central Committee.

During his career, both in the wartime and peacetime, in any positions, he greatly contributed to the military and nation’s revolutionary cause.

With numerous feats-of-arms, he was honored with the first-class Independence Order, the title “Hero of the People's Armed Forces (posthumously bestowed in 2014) and many other noble orders and medals presented by the Party and the State.
