PANO – The Linh Son Pagoda, in Thanh Nhan, Hanoi, has recently associated with the Dien Bien Border Guard Command, Dien Bien Phu Newspaper and Dien Bien Young Doctors Society, to offer gifts and medicines to local residents in Na Co Sa Commune, Muong Nhe District, Dien Bien Province.

The free gifts include 10 tons of rice, 600kg of instant noodles, 500 mosquito nets, 250 litres of cooking oil and 250 litres of soy sauce. Besides, the sponsors also provided free health check-ups and medicines for 500 people.

Na Co Sa  is the poorest commune and all its inhabitants are H’Mong ethnic minority people. Over the past years, authorities of Dien Bien Province and Muong Nhe Districts have given priority to eradicating poverty and improving the local people’s living standards.

However, this is really a very hard job as the commune lies in a drawback mountainous region and local people are still leading a hard life.

On March 17th, the Institute of Haematology and Blood Transfusion of the Hue Hospital, in association with Huong Hoa District (Quang Tri), collected over 62,000 ml of blood for needy patients.
