The deputy minister will have meetings with localities, enterprises, and business associations on support measures regarding techniques, breeding animals, production materials, and animal food, among others, he said, adding the ministry has proposed the Government extend debt payment deadline, provide specific assistance for typhoon-hit businesses, cooperatives and households, and handle insurance issues so that they could recover production at the earliest to ensure sufficient food supply for the upcoming Tet (Lunar New Year) Festival.

According to Tien, Typhoon Yagi and its subsequent downpours and floods cost the fishery sector some 2.5 trillion VND (101.7 million USD), and livestock around 2 trillion VND. The Ministry of Planning and Investment estimated agricultural growth may decrease by 0.33% this year.
