Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly (NA) Tong Thi Phong has urged the NA committees for social affairs of Vietnam and Laos to exert more efforts to further enhance their cooperation efficiency.
Phong made the remarks during a reception for a Lao NA Committee for Cultural and Social Affairs delegation led by its head Phonethep Pholsena in Hanoi on February 25.
Hailing the Lao delegation’s visit, the NA Vice Chairwoman said this is an activity of practical importance to further consolidate the cooperation between the two legislative bodies, matching the signed agreements.
She lauded the outcomes of the working session between the delegation and Vietnam’s NA Committee for Social Affairs, urging the two committees to continue their close coordination and mutual support, while strengthening information exchange as well as experience sharing.
For his part, Phonethep Pholsena said during the working session with the NA Committee for Social Affairs of Vietnam, the two sides focused on studying each other’s experience on reviewing and drafting laws and NA resolutions related to social issues.
The two committees also shared their knowledge of making supervision reports on the implementation of laws in social areas as well as experience in maintaining contact with voters after NA sittings.
Phonethep Pholsena also voiced his hope for more chances to meet and cooperate with the NA Committee for Social Affairs of Vietnam, which he believes will contribute to consolidating the special relations between the two countries.
