PANO - The Vietnam Journalists' Association and the Ministry of Information and Communications held a joint press conference on May 23rd to launch a program to study press laws in 2016 and to collect opinions about creating journalism ethics regulations for Vietnamese press workers, in accordance with the 2016 Press Laws.

The 2016 Press Laws, ratified by the 13th National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on April 5th 2016, will take effect on January 1st, 2017. The Press Laws consist of six chapters, with a total of 61 articles, including 32 new ones.
The program will take place from May to September this year. It will cover a wide range of typical activities, such as conferences and forums on press laws and journalistic ethical regulations in Vietnam. The focus will be on determining achievements and shortcomings of Vietnamese journalists.
