PANO - A charity fund of nearly VND 800 million was recently raised by the Hanoi’s Communist Youth Union to support people affected by natural disasters in Central and Central Highlands provinces.

The activity, the third drive of a fund-raising campaign this year, was launched on November 20th. During 10 days, 391 stands were set up to call for more donations from locals.

So far, the Union has collected nearly VND 800 million and over 100 tons of rice, instant noodles, clothing, blankets and study equipment.

All donations will be sent to needy children and people in December.

The campaign, “Help a lame dog over a stile” as the Vietnamese saying goes, shows the love and responsibility of the capital city’s youth in supporting local people in Central and Central Highlands provinces when they are facing difficulties.
