PANO – The liaison board of veterans of the unnumbered ships in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) and Naval Brigade 125 held a get-together on October 23 to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Trail at Sea (October 23, 1961).

The event drew the participation of generals, heroes of the People's Armed Forces, war veterans of unnumbered ships, representatives, and people from Ben Tre, Tra Vinh, Ca Mau and Ba Ria - Vung Tau provinces.

Established in 2008, the liaison board has held gatherings for war veterans to meet with each other.

The liaison board held dozens of “returning to the roots” trips to provide free health checkups and medicines for 2,000 patients; built nine rural bridges; and handed over 88 gratitude houses to war veterans and families who supported soldiers of unnumbered ships at wharfs in Ben Tre, Tra Vinh, Ca Mau and Ba Ria - Vung Tau provinces during the war.

The board also presented nearly 200 bicycles, scholarships, 20,000 notebooks and clothing, worth VND 6 billion, to needy students with good academic records, and visited sick soldiers and disadvantaged households.
