Previously, the Defense Minister signed Decision No.1814/QD-BQP on the establishment of the committee and the group.

According to the decision, the committee is in charge of directing a standing organ to set up organization mechanisms for the committee and group, making a proposal for the ordinance building, reviewing current legal documents for the ordinance building, and hosting workshops and studying information and issues related to ordinance building.

In addition, the committee is also requested to evaluate the impact of the policy in the ordinance development, prepare reports and outlines of the draft ordinance, finalize a dossier and report to the Ministry of National Defense to submit to the Government for approval.

Addressing the conference, General Chien affirmed that once coming into effect, the ordinance will contribute to promoting the State management in overcoming consequences of bombs and mines left over from the war in Vietnam.

The establishment of the Steering Committee helps build the ordinance as regulated by the State law, directed by the Prime Minister and Defense Minister.

The deputy defense minister also asked relevant units to closely work together to make thorough preparations for the ordinance building as scheduled.
