The remains of the fallen soldiers were first detected by a construction team while they were building a road in hamlet K54 of Loc Thien commune of Binh Phuoc province’s Loc Ninh district.

The remains of the fallen soldiers are collected by members of Team K72

Having been reported, the provincial Military Command sent Team K72 to collect all sets of remains of martyrs and their belongings.

According to Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Anh, Commissar of Team K72, the unit is expanding its search in surrounding areas for more remains of martyrs.

Anh said that based on information from local people and the belongings of fallen soldiers, the burial location is possibly where Infirmary K54 was located in the anti-American war.

At present, the Binh Phuoc provincial Military Command hopes for more information from war veterans who once participated in the theater to identify remains of soldiers. Information should be sent to the Binh Phuoc provincial Military Command or “Information of Martyrs’ Burial Area” Column of the People’s Army Newspaper at 7, Phan Dinh Phung Street, Hanoi with phone number: 069.554.119 and mail address:
