Scientific seminar on Lieutenant General Dong Sy Nguyen held in Quang Binh

The activity was in celebration of the 100th birthday of Lieutenant General Dong Sy Nguyen (March 1, 1923 - 2023) - a former Politburo member, former Vice Chairman of the Council of Ministers (now the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government), former Deputy Minister of National Defense, and former Commander of Truong Son Corps (Mission 559).

The event affirmed the great contribution of Lieutenant General Dong Sy Nguyen to the national revolutionary cause of the Party, State and military. It also aimed to disseminate revolutionary traditions to the whole Party, people and military, contributing to building and protecting national sovereignty.

Addressing the seminar, Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh affirmed that this was an important activity of the nation and military in 2023. The seminar contributed to promoting patriotism and national pride among troops and building a revolutionary, regular, elite, gradually-modernized Vietnam People’s Army.

Speaking at the event, Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan suggested the seminar should focus on the patriotic and revolutionary traditions of Quang Binh province - where Lieutenant General Dong Sy Nguyen and many other Party revolutionaries were born. He also discussed lessons learnt from the revolutionary cause of Lieutenant General Dong Sy Nguyen so as to apply to military building and national protection cause.

More than 80 reports sent to the seminar were well prepared, affirming great contribution of as well as deep tribute of the Party, State, MND, and people to Lieutenant General Dong Sy Nguyen.
