Museum on Saigon - Gia Dinh Special Force established in Ho Chi Minh City
PANO - A ceremony was held on August 27 at No.145 Tran Quang Khai, Tan Dinh ward, District No.1, Ho Chi Minh City to announce the decision of the establishment of the Saigon - Gia Dinh Special Force museum.
This is the only museum in Vietnam featuring the former Saigon - Gia Dinh Special Force.
The museum was licensed on June 21, 2023, targeting to preserve and uphold the heroic revolutionary traditions of the Saigon - Gia Dinh Special Force and the Ho Chi Minh City’s armed forces in general.

Under the management of the local authorities, the museum is owned by family of Hero of the People’s Armed Forces Tran Van Lai.
Currently, there are seven precious collections with more than 300 artifacts and documentary photos featuring different periods of hero Tran Van Lai’s revolutionary cause and the Saigon - Gia Dinh Special Force. It opens daily from 7:30 to 17:00.

According to Director of the Saigon - Gia Dinh Special Force Museum Co., Ltd. Tran Trong Nghia, in the coming time, in addition to collecting historical artifacts, the museum will be developed towards the digitization trend to better store artifacts. Accordingly, all data of the museum will be digitized via 3D or VR to feature all important events as well as open a space related to Saigon - Gia Dinh Special Force.

At the ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City, held that this is the sixth private museum in the city. It is considered a historical and cultural destination for visitors, she added.
