These bombs and mines, weighing between 227 and 454 kilograms with intact fuzes, were collected across nine provinces, namely Vinh Long, Tien Giang, Dong Thap, Tra Vinh, Hau Giang, An Giang, Bac Lieu, Kien Giang, and Ca Mau.

Despite significant challenges, officers and soldiers strictly adhered to safety regulations and technical procedures, successfully clearing 100% of the collected bombs and mines.

The Mekong Delta is one of the regions with a large number of unexploded ordnance (UXO) left from wartime, scattered across various provinces and cities, mostly in Tien Giang, Kien Giang, and Ben Tre.

In recent years, Military Region 9 has made significant efforts to clear thousands of tons of UXO, helping free up land for economic development and improve living conditions for local residents. At the same time, support programs for victims of UXO-related accidents have also been actively promoted.
