During the 2023-2024 dry season, four teams K from Military Region 7 searched for and collected 574 sets of martyrs' remains. In the 2024-2025 period, based on nearly 200 sources of information, the teams plan to search for approximately 600 sets of remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and advisors who laid down their lives while conducting international service in Cambodia.

Speaking at the see-off ceremony, Gen. Trung lauded units for their recent achievements in the search and collection of martyrs' remains and requested them to thoroughly grasp their duties and bring into play the obtained results. He said that each unit needs to complete the search and collection based on identified information and areas as planned; work closely with local authorities, armed forces, and specialized agencies in Cambodia to conduct information dissemination, collect, and verify information to improve the quality of mission and ensure absolute safety in all aspects. Gen. Trung asked members of the teams to strictly maintain discipline, effectively carry out mass mobilization and foreign relations activities, foster solidarity and friendship with Cambodia's units and localities.
