The UXO clearance project in Quang Binh received a grant of 503,597 USD (approximately VND 12.5 billion) via the Mines Advisory Group (MAG Vietnam) to clear unexploded ordnance and munition in Quang Ninh and Bo Trach districts. The project aims to transform land contaminated with unexploded materials into land that can be used for socio-economic purposes.

The classroom building project for the Kindergarten No.2 in Tru Son commune receives a grant of 131,989 USD (nearly VND 3.28 billion) via the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Association in Nghe An province to build a new classroom block (including three classrooms, three restrooms, three teacher rooms, and three storage rooms).

Speaking at the ceremony, Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Ito Naoki praised the significance of the UXO clearance project in Quang Binh, contributing to bringing safety and minimizing the risk of threats to the lives of people living in areas where the project is being implemented; improving soil quality, thereby enhancing the locality’s agricultural productivity and socio-economic development.

For her part, Country Director of MAG Vietnam Sarah Goring shared that the newly signed grant contract for the project in Quang Binh province will help maintain meaningful work by funding three UXO clearance teams, a mobile bomb disposal team, and two community liaison teams.
