Huge bomb safely disposed of
PANO - The engineering troops of the Tra Vinh provincial Military Command in collaboration with Duyen Hai district Military Command safely disposed of a nearly 250kg bomb left from war on April 11.
The huge bomb lying at a depth of about two meters was detected by a resident in Long Vinh commune, Duyen Hai district while clearing the ground for construction. He then reported the case to the local authorities.

On checking, engineers identified the bomb as an MK82 bomb produced by the U.S. in February 1968. The bomb with the intact detonator was extremely dangerous.
The process of removing and detonating the bomb closely followed regulations and ensured absolute safety.
