Addressing the event, General Cuong stressed that over the past years, under the leadership of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, the information dissemination on military-defense missions, defense external affairs, and military building have been implemented effectively thanks to the support of press agencies, including the Nhan Dan Newspaper.

The GDP Director spoke highly of the collaboration among the Nhan Dan Newspaper and the GDP and the whole-military units in reporting news related to unexpected missions of the military. Particularly, they have focused on COVID-19 prevention and control, natural disaster consequence relief, and the search and rescue missions. In addition, they have given information about major events of the military, outstanding individuals and groups of the movement “Studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality and lifestyle,” contributing to building a strong military in terms of politics, ideology and organization as well as orienting the public opinions and raising troops’ awareness of the national construction and protection tasks in the current context, he noted.

The high-ranking officer urged the Nhan Dan Newspaper to continue closely collaborating with the defense ministry and the GDP to enhance information dissemination, contributing to promoting the images of Uncle Ho’s soldiers and encouraging troops to overcome hardships and complete their assigned missions.

He asked them to exchange information with each other, promptly deal with complicated situations, and prevent hostile and reactionary forces from taking advantage of the situation to oppose the Party, the State and the military. The defense ministry will continue to direct relevant agencies to collaborate and create most favorable conditions for the Nhan Dan Newspaper in the coming time, he added.

On the occasion of the lunar New Year, the GDP’s leader wished leaders and reporters of the Nhan Dan Newspaper good health and happiness.

In turn, Editor-in-Chief Le Quoc Minh, who is also Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for Information and Education and Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists' Association, thanked the defense ministry’s leaders for creating favorable conditions for the newspaper over the past time and hoped to receive more support in the time to come.

The same day, the delegation of the Nhan Dan Newspaper visited and offered gifts to the Department of Political Education and Information.
