GDP leader receives RoK officers
PANO - Lieutenant General Do Can, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics (GDP) of the Vietnam People’s Army, on May 8 received a mission of the Mobilization Planning Department under the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Korea (RoK).
The mission led by its Director, Major General Kwon Sam, paid courtesy call on the leaderships the Ministry of National Defense and the GDP during a business trip to Vietnam.
On behalf of the Ministry of National Defense and the GDP, Lieutenant General Do Can welcomed Major General Kwon Sam to Vietnam and stressed that in line with the fine Vietnam – RoK bilateral relations since Vietnam and the RoK established their diplomatic ties in 1992, defense cooperation between Vietnam and the RoK has seen vigorous and substantial developments. The two sides have exchanged high-ranking military delegations, boosted cooperation between arms and services of the two militaries, and enhanced cooperation in personnel training, cyber-security, war-consequence relief, experience exchange in UN peacekeeping operations, and more.

The GDP official hoped that in the coming time there would be more exchanges and cooperation activities to boost friendship, mutual understanding, and trust between the two militaries in particular and the two countries in general.
