During the 2023-2024 dry season, with high determination and responsibility, troops of Team 584 found and collected 12 sets of martyrs’ remains in Savannaket province, Laos. Together with performing the task of search and collection of martyrs’ remains in Laos, Team 584 effectively implemented external affairs and mass mobilization work in the locality. Particularly, the team provided free medical examinations and medicines for more than 500 local people; presented more than 1,000 sets of clothes to ethnic people in remote areas; built and repaired people’s houses, and more. These practical activities received the trust and great sentiments of the Party Committee, authority and people of Laos, creating favorable conditions for Team 584 to accomplish all assigned missions.

In his remarks, Vice Chairman of the Quang Tri provincial People’s Committee and head of the province’s Steering Committee 515 Hoang Nam acknowledged and praised Team 584 for their outcomes, requiring them to build specific plans to review the work and honor outstanding collectives and individuals for their achievements in task performance in the 2023-2024 dry season while effectively implementing political education and training, as well as preparing enough personnel, vehicle and equipment for the search and collection of martyrs’ remains in the 2024-2025 dry season.
* On the same day, the local authorities of Quang Tri province organized a memorial and burial service at Road 9 National War Cemetery on May 22 for 12 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and advisors who laid down their lives in Laos.

The remains were found by Search and Collection Team 584 in the 2023-2024 dry season. Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong attended the event.
During the 2023 - 2024 dry season, thanks to the close attention of the Special Working Committees of the Vietnamese and Lao governments, the Ministry of National Defense and the Military Region 4 Command, Quang Tri province worked with the Party Committee, authority and people in Savannakhet province and effectively implemented the search and collection of remains of the Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and advisors.
At the service, delegates, local people and troops offered incense and flowers in tribute to heroic martyrs.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Hoang Nam underline that the sacrifice of heroic martyrs is a noble deed of Vietnam's sentiments towards international friends, showing the faithful and everlasting friendship between Vietnamese and Lao people.
