According to the agreement, the two sides will coordinate to conduct information dissemination and call on people to provide information related to martyrs and their burial places and participate in searching, collecting, and identifying remains of fallen soldiers in the 2023-2024 period.

The event was co-chaired by Political Commissar of the provincial Military Command and Deputy Head of the province’s Steering Committee 515 Senior Colonel Tran Minh Trong and President of the provincial Veterans’ Association Ro Luk Bong.

In realizing the coordination agreement signed on March 20, 2017, over the past five years, the provincial Steering Committee 515 and Veterans’ Association have worked together to disseminate and mobilize people to provide information related to martyrs and their burial places, thus enhancing the quality of the search and collection of martyrs’ remains.

From 2017 to 2022, war veterans’ associations at all level worked with units to respond to information providers’ letters and provide consultation for 179 people; searched and collected 127 sets of remains of fallen soldiers, including 56 in localities in the province and 71 in Cambodia.

At the event, delegates discussed and shared difficulties in carrying out the work and proposed measures to enhance its effectiveness in the future. The two sides agreed that in the coming time they will collaborate to disseminate information about the Party’s guidelines, State’s policies, the Government’s decisions, and programs and guidance of the National Steering Committee 515 and at all levels on the search, collection, and identification of fallen soldiers without proper information; raise the awareness of and responsibility of local party committees and authorities, agencies, units, and members of war veterans’ association for searching, collecting, and identifying remains of martyrs. 

They agreed to work together to collect and handle information related to martyrs and their burial places; decode military units' signs and numbers; mobilize war veterans to provide information; participate in search, collection, and hand-over of martyrs’ remains; and solemnly organize memorial and reburial services for them.
