According to Major Vu The Anh, while waiting for his flight home, he found a Vietnamese woman named H., who was bleeding with high fever, sitting next to two kids in the area for people mostly flying from Eastern Europe via Dubai to Vietnam.
At that time, no one there could speak either English or Arabic. The woman was then taken to the medical care area at the airport and completed all procedures to be hospitalized to Latifa Women and Children Hospital in Dubai. While waiting for the ambulance, Major The Anh encouraged the patient and took care of her kids, one aged 6 and the other 1 and a half. Through the talk, The Anh knew that H. lived in the Czech Republic and was on the way to Vietnam to enjoy the lunar New Year.

During nearly 24 hours in Dubai, Major The Anh gave wholehearted support to the mother and kids from interpretation, completion of hospital admission procedures, contact with the patient’s relatives in Vietnam and the Vietnamese embassy in Dubai to seek help from his comrades to get more information and connection. For him, the caring for the kids was also a challenge.
The patient was diagnosed with miscarriage. She had to stay in the hospital for monitoring and testing until she was in stable condition.
Major The Anh completed his assistance after the staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Dubai came to implement citizen protection procedures.
He got support to arrive at Dubai airport at 20:00 the next day to fly home. The patient and her kids will receive the flight support as well.
The good deed of a Vietnamese officer, especially a peacekeeper in a foreign country, for his compatriot in trouble was touching and precious. Major The Anh’s act helped shine the image of Uncle Ho’s soldiers.
