The medical staff from Vietnam’s An Giang province check Cambodian residents' health conditions. |
The mission took place in an area that was once a base of Vietnamese volunteer troops during the war to defend the Southwestern border. Today, local people still face many hardships due to poor economic conditions and limited access to medical services.
Despite the long journey and harsh weather, the Vietnamese medical team quickly began providing health checkups, ultrasound examinations, consultations and free medicines. Many local residents arrived early, grateful for the rare opportunity to receive free health checkups. Mun Men, a resident of Kom Penh commune, Kiri Vong district, shared his appreciation for the care and expressed hope for recovery.
To ensure smooth communication, interpreters and officers from Search and Collection Team K93 of Vietnam assisted throughout the program. Thach Thi Xoan, head nurse of Kien Giang General Hospital, said that although conditions were difficult, the trust, joy and gratitude of Cambodian people made every hardship worthwhile.
