Particularly, Military Region 2 (MR2) was asked to cooperate with the Engineering Corps and Phu Tho provincial authorities to swiftly carry out Search and Rescue (SAR) operations and measures to deal with the collapse of Phong Chau Bridge as soon as possible.

* On September 9 afternoon, GS Deputy Chief Sr. Lt. Gen. Huynh Chien Thang inspected the flood relief in Yen Bai province. Directly inspecting, directing, and encouraging the participating forces, Gen. Thang requested that the MR2 Command direct troops, militiamen, and other forces to work together to urgently rescue and evacuate people and property in flooded areas and areas at risk of landslides, and raise awareness of the local community to minimize the risks and consequences of natural disasters.
