Students in Hai Phong learn about maritime law
PANO - The Drug Crime Prevention and Control Task Force No.1 of the Vietnam Coast Guard Command organized a conference on maritime knowledge and drug prevention at school for over 1,000 students at Hoa Nghia Secondary School in Hai Phong city on March 17.
Orators talked about updates on recent situation in the East Sea (South China Sea), Vietnam’s laws on national sea and islands, historical evidence proving Vietnam’s sovereignty over the Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagos, the coast guard force, and the Law on Vietnam Coast Guard.

Additionally, they introduced legal regulations on drug crime prevention, ways to identify different types of drugs, and the harmful effects of drug use, particularly on young people. They provided insights into drug crime prevention operations and measures, as well as emphasized the vital role of families, schools, and organizations in educating young people to prevent them from committing crime.
The conference also highlighted the dangers of e-cigarettes and the Vietnamese government’s ban on e-cigarettes and heated tobacco products starting in 2025.

A total of 1,000 leaflets, 200 legal books were distributed at the event. Twenty gifts, totally valued at VND 20 million, were awarded to the school’s underprivileged students with outstanding academic performance.
