A leader of Tuong Duong district’s Military Command, along with representatives from local authorities, hand over symbolic funding for the “Great unity” house to the family of Private Luong Van Thiu.

Private Hao was deeply moved. The new house is truly priceless to his family and him, providing them with a stable living space and giving him great motivation to continue fulfilling his sacred duty to the country. He promised to strive his best to live up to this support.

Similarly, at Dinh Thang village (Tam Dinh commune, Tuong Duong district), the family of Private Luong Van Thiu from Battalion 3, Regiment 1, Division 324, Military Region 4, also received a “Great unity” house from the district’s Military Command. Ngan Thi Hong, mother of Private Thiu, shared that her family had been in difficult circumstances for years and their old house had seriously downgraded. Thanks to the support of the district’s Military Command and help from neighbors, they now have a new home. The soldiers and local militia force even helped with the construction and donated various household items, for which the recipient is immensely grateful.

According to Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tuong Duong district Lu Van Thanh, the “Great unity” houses are living proof of the strong and lasting bond between the military and civilians. They provide the foundation for the district to continue promoting social welfare programs and contribute to building a strong all-people border defense posture.

As part of the “Joining hands for the poor - No one is left behind” program, Tuong Duong district’s Military Command has been calling for donations to carry out meaningful activities to support military families, militias, and local people facing housing difficulties. In 2024 and the first four months of 2025 alone, the unit, with support from sponsors, has provided cows, built 13 “Great unity” houses for on-duty soldiers, veterans, and militia force’s members in need of housing assistance (each family received cash support ranging from VND 50 to 80 million, along with construction materials, working days, and other household items). Additionally, the unit has participated in the “Mother’s care” program launched by the district Women’s Union, where 12 orphans have been supported.

Director of the Viet Nhan Joint Stock Company in Nghe An province Nguyen Thi Le Dung, who has been accompanying Tuong Duong district’s Military Command for years, said that the work done by Tuong Duong district’s Military Command was very meaningful. Therefore, the company has accompanied the unit to help soldiers with difficult circumstances rise above their challenges, helping them complete their duties.

In turn, Colonel Nguyen Xuan Dai, Commanding officer of Tuong Duong district’s Military Command, affirmed that the “Great unity” houses not only help soldiers in difficult circumstances feel secure in their task performance but are also a deeply humane act that helps motivate young people to eagerly join the military service and contribute to defending the Fatherland.

These “Great unity” houses are not just homes. They are a beautiful symbol of the close civilian-military ties, demonstrating the deep care of the Party, State, military, and the community for the military rear. They are powerful moral support, contributing to building a strong people’s defense posture at the nation’s border and affirming the strength of the great national unity bloc in the national defense and construction cause.
