Due to prolonged hot weather, many school-age children in the border and coastal areas of Nghe An province often go to rivers, streams, reservoirs, and beaches for swimming. Among them, many do not know how to swim and lack the necessary knowledge to respond or perform rescues, which poses serious risks and has led to tragic drowning incidents. Especially during the summer break, when students are away from school supervision and parents are often busy with work, posing a risk of drowning accidents among children.

Learning about the situation, when the summer came, Nghe An’s border stations conducted law dissemination activities among students, focusing on injury and drowning prevention, and rescue techniques and first aid procedures.

Over the past time, border units have collaborated with schools in Vinh city to disseminate information related to drowning prevention among more than 3,250 students. These practical activities have equipped students with essential skills to ensure their safety during daily activities and playtime.

Many rivers and streams are running through the land border area in Tam Quang commune, Tuong Duong district managed by Tam Quang Border Station. During the summer, many children head to rivers and streams for swimming. In order to prevent accidents and drownings, the station has worked with local schools to organize life skills education activities for students. These programs have guided students to avoid dangerous areas and how to respond and perform first aid when someone is drowning.
