These deeds have contributed to deepening the solidarity and close ties between the military and civilians, as well as showing the role of the border guard force in promoting socio-economic and cultural development in border areas.
Tr’Hy and A Xan are the two difficult border communes in Tay Giang district. More than 90% of the population are Co Tu ethnic people. With low levels of education, low economic growth, harsh soil conditions, local people are facing many difficulties. However, thanks to being keen on learning, Co Tu people in A Xan and Tr’Hy have been bright examples for those in other areas, as the rate of students graduating from high school and admitted to colleges and universities is high.

Colonel Bui Van Duc, Commanding officer of Tr’Hy Border Station presents gifts to two adopted children, Hoih Duc Huu and Po Loong Khang. |
Over the past time, Tr’Hy Border Post has conducted a number of activities to support local students, particularly disadvantaged ones. Through the “Standing by women in border areas” program, the unit has called on benefactors and sponsors to presented gifts, including necessities, school supplies, and uniforms, to needy students to help them overcome their difficulties and continue their study. The “Paving the way to school for children - Adopted children of border posts” program is the follow-up activity to support disadvantaged students.
The 2024-2025 school year is special for Co Lau An, as he leaves the Tr'Hy Border Station to go to the district to study at a high school. An has lived with troops of Tr'Hy Border Station for nearly five years. Living in the military environment, An has become self-reliant; therefore, hearing the news that An will study alone in the district, the border troops are sure that he would make it. Moreover, An’s name is in the list of sponsored students under the “Paving the way to school for children - Adopted children of border posts” program. Thus, every month, An will receive a financial support of VND 500,000 from Tr'Hy Border Station.
An shared that he is always grateful to adoptive fathers. His parents passed away and his grandmother is old and weak. He cannot imagine how he would have continued his study without adoptive fathers. He promised to study hard to deserve border troops’ love and belief.
On September 1, Tr’Hy Border Station adopted a child, named Po Loong Khang, born in 2013 in Abaanh II village, Tr’Hy commune. Khang is currently a 6th grade student at the Ly Tu Trong Boarding High and Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities in A Xan Commune. The day Co Lau An left the Border station, the saddest person was probably Hoi Duc Huu who had been adopted by the Station along with Co Lau An. Hoi Duc Huu was very happy when Border Guard fathers adopted more children. Khang is the same age as Hoih Duc Huu so Huu quickly became close. Perhaps, the thoughtfulness of adoptive fathers and the enthusiasm of Huu has helped Khang quickly get used to this new environment.
In the 2024-2025 school year, Riah Vut, born in 2011 in Ta Vang village, Ka Lum district, Sekong province, Laos, is a new student adopted by Tr’Hy Border Station under the “Paving the way to school for children - Adopted children of border posts” program. His father passed away and his mother is sick, Riah Vut lived with his uncle's family. Due to difficult conditions, although Riah Vut was born in 2011, he is only in 6th grade at Kalum district Secondary School. Every month, he receives a support of VND 500,000 VND from Tr'Hy Border Station or through the local authorities at Tay Giang Border Checkpoint under Ga Ry Border Station.
For 20 students from Tr’Hy and A Xan communes under the “Military officers and soldiers supporting children to go to school” project, apart from providing financial support, Tr’Hy Border Station has regularly inquired after and encouraged them to keep studying; kept close contact and exchanged information with the school about the students' study situation to have appropriate education methods.
In the last school year, Tr’Hy Border Station spent VND 120 million for 28 sponsored students, of which VND 50 million was mobilized from other resources. Attentively, A Lang Thi Mi was admitted to the Faculty of Nursing of the Medical College of Quang Nam.
