Regiment 82 completes live-fire exercise
PANO - On October 30, Division 355 under Military Region 2 directed Regiment 82 to conduct a live-fire exercise. This marked the fourth phase and the final content of the one-side, one-level command exercise with field training content performed by Regiment 82, which began on October 23.
The exercise was attended and observed by Major General Doan Quoc Viet, Deputy Chief of Staff of Military Region 2, as well as representatives from various functional units of Military Region 2 and departments of Dien Bien province.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Senior Colonel Vu Ngoc Hai, Commanding Officer of Division 355, emphasized that the live-fire exercise aimed to assess the leadership and command capabilities of officers at all levels. It also assessed the ability to coordinate in combat among different units and mastery of their assigned equipment. These assessments would help evaluate the combat training results of the unit in 2023 and map out plans to improve training and combat readiness quality in the time to come.
Themed "Infantry battalion attacks the enemy in defensive mountainous terrains," Battalion 1 of Regiment 82 overcame various challenges, closely coordinated efforts, and successfully completed the assigned mission, ensuring absolute safety.
Colonel Nguyen Van Hoat, Commanding Officer of Regiment 82, affirmed that combat operations and coordination among units and individuals during the live-fire content resulted from meticulous training. In recent years, the quality of training and combat readiness of the unit has consistently improved, meeting the task requirements in the current situation.
Major General Doan Quoc Viet and the leadership of Division 355 then presented gifts to and encourage the participating units.
