The Search and Rescue Department has issued a dispatch calling for pro-active response to a low-pressure area that is likely to intensify into a tropical depression. |
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, a low-pressure area has formed in the northeast of Luzon Island (Philippines), with potential movement West-Northwest and intensification within the next 24 hours. Meanwhile, the waters from Lam Dong to Ca Mau are experiencing strong southwesterly wind at level of 5 to 6, and gale up to level 7.
The Search and Rescue Department requested all units to closely monitor weather development, ensure safety for personnel and vessels at sea; maintain the readiness status to assist search and rescue when required. The border guard units of coastal provinces and cities from Quang Ninh to An Giang are required to coordinate with localities, promptly inform vessel owners and captains for pro-active precaution, protecting human life and properties.
Units are required to implement the directive and report outcomes to the General Staff via the Search and Rescue Department for further coordination and direction.
