New Year program for troops and islanders held in Da Nang
PANO – The Coast Guard Region 2 Command, in collaboration with the Da Nang municipal Party Committee’s Mass Mobilization Commission, held the “New Year on islands and at sea” program on January 6 to welcome the Year of the Cat.

Policy families and needy fishermen in Son Tra district receiving gifts |
The event was part of the activities within the framework of the “Coast guards stand by fishermen" program in Da Nang City.
During the event, the Coast Guard Region 2 Command presented 100 gift packages, worth nearly VND 1,5 million each, to policy families and fishermen in difficult circumstances in Son Tra district, Da Nang city.
According to Senior Colonel Tran Hong Que, Deputy Political Commissar of the Coast Guard Region 2 Command, this is the third time this year that the Coast Guard Region 2 Command has organized the “New Year on islands and at sea” program.
During the events, the organizers presented more than 400 gifts, 80 scholarships, 32 bicycles, trees of different kinds, and more than 5,000 national flags to fishermen and students in localities in the Central region.
The activity aimed to encourage and help families stabilize their lives, strengthen the relationship of between troops and people, and raise people’s responsibility for protecting the sovereignty, security, and safety of national sea and islands.
