The number of learners has increased to more than 440 while the school infrastructure was deteriorating, causing problems to the operation of the school.

“The makeshift rooms set up behind the class for students to stay in are extremely uncomfortable in the inclement weather. Therefore, we highly appreciate the command’s support,” said Ca Van Hung, Principal of Ta Sin Thang Semi-boarding Primary School for Ethnic Minorities.
The semi-boarding house of over 120 square meter is to relieve the burden on both teachers and students.
“In order to share difficulties with the education sector in remote areas, we have installed four semi-boarding houses and school canteens in Dien Bien, Nam Po, and Tua Chua districts. The unit has built eight single-storey houses of 250 sq.m in Nam Po district, and a five-compartment house of 125 sq.m in Dien Bien district. All houses have been securely constructed at the total cost of around VND 700 million,” shared Senior Colonel Thao A Cua, Second-in-command of the Dien Bien provincial Military Command.
In November 2021, the provincial military command selected nearly 20 officers and soldiers with construction experience and knowledge of local culture as the core team to build the houses. “We consider it an important political mission. Therefore, despite a handful of difficulties, we tried our best to finish the construction and hand it over to the schools as quickly as possible,” said Major Nguyen Van Ngoc, a political staff of the Dien Bien provincial Military Command.
The Party committees and chains-of-command at all levels of the Dien Bien provincial Military Command have paid much attention to the local education sector for the past few years. In addition to providing human resources and financial support to repair infrastructures and tackle the consequences of natural disasters, the unit has also provided school supplies, warm clothes and scholarships to help poor students every year. These are practical deeds demonstrating the social responsibility of the Dien Bien provincial Military Command and tightening the military-civilian relationship.
