Accordingly, the delegation presented gifts to the households of Mr. Vo Le, Mr. Duong Van Sau, Mr. Duong Van Phu, and Mrs. Phan Thi Gai from Tay Ho village, Phu Ho commune, Phu Vang district.
Secretary Le Truong Luu and the delegation inquired after and shared difficulties with the people, hoping that they would soon overcome difficulties to stabilize their lives. He also requested the district’s authorities to support the locals, while mobilizing forces to help them clean the environment and overcome flood consequences.
On the same day, the delegation inspected an embankment along the coast of Tan An and An Duong 1 villages (Phu Thuan commune, Phu Vang district). The embankment has been seriously eroded by rain and flood. Having inspected, Mr. Luu asked the local authorities and relevant forces to take measures to quickly speed up the construction of embankment against coastal erosion.
On this occasion, Second-in-Command of the Thua Thien Hue provincial Military Command Senior Colonel Nguyen Dinh Do also offered gifts to ten flood-hit households in Luong Loc village, Phu Luong commune, Phu Vang district.
* On these days, thousands of troops and militiamen from Military Region 5’s affiliated units have rushed to localities to make utmost efforts to help people overcome the consequences of the recent floods and stabilize their lives.
In the districts of Hai Chau, Thanh Khe, Lien Chieu, Son Tra of Da Nang city, after two days, relevant forces helped 3,238 households who are national contributors and needy people to clean up the environment and repair their houses.
On October 16, nearly 200 troops and militiamen of the Hai Chau district’s Military Command cleaned up the roads of Dong Da, Le Duan, Ly Tu Trong, and Hai Ho.
Reportedly, there were about 3,000m3 of mud and untreated waste on the central roads of the district, affecting the traffic and environmental hygiene, as well as people’s daily life. Therefore, the unit mobilized forces to collect waste to ensure smooth traffic flow.
At Hong Quang Primary School (Hoa Khanh Nam ward, Lien Chieu district, Da Nang city), heavy rain damaged 300m of the school’s wall. In this situation, troops of the Da Nang city’s armed forces and Special Forces Battalion 409 (Militaray Region 5) helped the school clean up the environment and repair the facility.
* On the same day, the Nghe An provincial Border Guard Command, in coordination with other sponsors, visited and handed over gifts to flood-hit people in Ky Son district.
The delegation presented money in cash to the disadvantaged households, worth VND 10 million each, and 100 gifts including instant noodles, clothes, rice and VND 500,000 to other households in the areas, totally worth VND 250 million.
The delegation also hoped that the local authorities and people would soon overcome flood aftermath and soon stabilize their life.
