More efforts made to locate missing fishermen
PANO - The joint rescue team from the Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center, the Ba Ria-Vung Tau Provincial Border Guard and other units, are trying their best to search for three missing fishermen on board trawler BV 9496 TS.
Earlier, the Search and Rescue Department under the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army revealed on December 13 that trawler BV 9496 TS with 16 fishermen on board went adrift due to several leakages while fishing about 27 nautical miles off Vung Tau city (Ba Ria - Vung Tau province).

After receiving the mayday signal, the Office of the National Committee for Response to Natural Disasters and Search and Rescue asked relevant agencies and units to call for assistance from nearby ships.
The ships of SAR 413, BP 13-19-01, CSB 9003 were sent to the location for a rescue mission.
Due to high waves and strong winds, the search for missing fishermen was not successful. The rescuers are expanding the searching areas.
