GDP’s Deputy Chief briefed delegates on the military’s activities over the past time, especially the implementation of policies for troops and their families and gratitude work.

Regarding gratitude work, since 2013, units in the whole military have given assistance for the construction of more than 8,600 houses, presented 6,400 savings books, taken care of 2,879 heroic Vietnamese mothers, and provided ambulances and medical supplies to convalescent centers for wounded soldiers with a total cost of VND 810 billion.

In 2022, on the 75th anniversary of the Wounded and Fallen Soldiers’ Day (July 27), the whole military launched an emulation movement to pay gratitude to national contributors. Defense agencies and military units gave financial support to build 1,769 houses, presented 806 savings books to policy people and national contributors, and provided free health check-ups and medicines for over 13,000 people.

Units sewed silk ensembles and gave gifts to 1,489 heroic Vietnamese mothers who are being cared for by military units and provided medical equipment for five convalescent centers for those who rendered good service to the nation.

Those above-mentioned deeds of troops in the whole military have contributed to the whole Party and people’s efforts in taking care of policy beneficiaries and those with good service to the nation and educating troops about gratitude tradition of the Vietnamese people.

Upholding the revolutionary land’s traditions, the Party Organization, authorities, troops, and people of Tien Giang province have overcome all difficulties and striven to obtain important and comprehensive achievements.

Notably, the province has paid attention to carrying out policies for national contributors. The whole province has more than 132,000 policy beneficiaries and national contributors, including over 35,500 martyrs, over 5,980 heroic Vietnamese mothers (168 mothers still live), over 11,600 wounded soldiers, over 2,430 sick soldiers, 2,392 former prisoners of war, and 2,000 revolutionaries exposed to toxic chemicals.
