Reportedly, the natural disaster affected 1,290 households, broke more than 60,000 tiles and over 4,000 roof sheets, and damaged nearly 240ha of crops.

The Cao Bang provincial Military Command directed the districts’ armed forces to send more than 200 troops and militiamen to support local households to overcome the consequences.

Meanwhile, a delegation approached the scene to inspect the implementation and encourage the thunderstorm-affected people.

* On May 8, in some provinces in the Central region, including Nghe An, Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Thua Thien Hue, heavy storms happened, causing losses in both humans and property.

In Thua Thien Hue province, two trawlers, numbered TTH 91075 TS and TTH 92349 TS, together with eight fishermen aboard went adrift while they were anchoring in the waters of Phu Thuan commune, Phu Vang district.

The Border Post of Thuan An Port Border Gate under the Thua Thien Hue provincial Border Guard Command mobilized 15 troops, in coordination with the local authorities and fishermen, to rescue the two trawlers.

In Quang Binh province, on the same day, nine boats with nine fishermen, mostly from Ngu Thuy Bac commune, Le Thuy district, sank about 3-5 nautical miles from the coastline. After that, eight fishermen were safely brought ashore, while functional forces are actively searching for one missing.

Thunderstorms in Que Phong, Quy Chau and Ky Son districts, Nghe An province damaged dozens of houses, property, and crops. The Nghe An provincial border troops are actively helping the locals surmount the aftermath.
