Military fosters efforts against COVID-19 epidemic
PANO – An exercise on medical testing for the novel coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) was held by the Department of Military Medicine under the General Department of Logistics on March 19. 100 military medical personnel from 30 hospitals along with preventive medicine teams took part in the event.
During the exercise, doctors and health experts from Military Hospital 103 and the Military Medicine Academy instructed participants to practice collecting COVID-19 test samples and using Real-time RT-PCR solutions to detect infected cases.
After the event, participants were required to apply their acquired knowledge into further practices of conducting medical tests in their units, contributing to testing COVID-19 on a larger scale and effectively preventing the epidemic in the time to come.

* The same day, Division 390 of Military Corps 1 received 494 Vietnamese citizens returning from European countries. Previously, 409 others fulfilled their quarantine in the unit and the division completed preparation to welcome more returners.
* On March 18, the Dien Bien Provincial Military Command took 37 Vietnamese workers, including 21 men and 16 women, returning from Laos to a local quarantine area.
* Meanwhile, the Center for Defense and Security Training under Infantry 896 of the Ninh Thuan Provincial Military Command welcomed 77 people, including 9 children, to the quarantine area. The recently quarantined people had all had close contact with infected people in the last 14 days.
