"Thanks to the support of Tank Brigade 203, Army Corps 12, the main road in Tan Dan hamlet has recently been paved with 150m of concrete. The project has not only beautified the countryside but also made travel more convenient for the residents. We have named this road the “Military-civilian road,” shared Nguyen Khac Chien, Secretary of the Party Cell of Tan Dan hamlet.

According to Chien, the "Military-civilian village" model has been implemented in Tan Dan hamlet by Tank Brigade 203 and the authority of Dong Hung commune since October 2023. Although it has been in operation for less than a year, the model has significantly contributed to the development of Tan Dan hamlet. Roads that were once overgrown with weeds have been cleared; irrigation canals that were clogged with trash have been cleaned, allowing water to flow to the fields; and the houses and gardens of policy families have been tended to. Lieutenant Colonel Luu Van Thuat, Political Chief of Tank Brigade 203, added, "To promote the role of officers and soldiers in building the “Military-civilian village,” the brigade's leadership has focused on directing relevant agencies and units to learn and clearly understand the situation and actual needs of the hamlet, allowing them to advise the local authority on establishing working regulations that are suitable for both the unit and the locality."
The leadership of Tan Dan hamlet and the chain of command of Tank Brigade 203 have proactively communicated, reached a consensus, and assigned specific tasks to the involved agencies and units. For example, in the area of "coordinating to promote economic, cultural, and social development," the brigade is responsible for providing manpower, working alongside residents to construct and repair roads, clean the environment, build rural roads, plant trees, and paint murals. They also assist in constructing electrical systems and installing streetlights to light up village roads and alleys, among other tasks. Meanwhile, the authority of Dong Hung commune and the leaders of Tan Dan hamlet are responsible for mobilizing the local population and political-social organizations to collaborate with the military in these efforts.
Additionally, the hamlet and commune officials are tasked with proposing areas where the unit's assistance can be most effective, such as supporting the construction of public works for the people and providing gifts to policy families. Recently, Dong Hung commune built two houses of gratitude for impoverished families in Tan Dan hamlet—those of Mrs. Dong Thi Xuan and Mrs. Nguyen Thi Thanh. The brigade deployed dozens of officers and soldiers, contributing hundreds of labor days to assist these families, a gesture highly appreciated by local party committees and authorities.
Nguyen Khac Chien shared that "through these specific activities, the “Military-civilian village” model has not only helped Tan Dan hamlet develop but also inspired residents to change their mindset, raise their sense of responsibility, and actively contribute to the development of their homeland."
