Helicopter flies seriously ill patient ashore for treatment
PANO - On the afternoon of July 25, a helicopter of the Southern Vietnam Helicopter Company under the Vietnam Helicopter Corporation (Army Corps 18) successfully flew a patient from island to the mainland for treatment.
Accordingly, patient Nguyen Van Duc, born in 1980 in Nam Dinh province, an employee on board the Hai Au Sky vessel, was seriously ill while working at sea. He was then transported to the infirmary on Song Tu Tay (Southwest Cay) Island for emergency treatment.

Doctors at the infirmary found out that the patient suffered from symptoms of meningitis and brain stroke. Thus, they decided that the patient should be brought ashore for further treatment due to his serious health condition.
After receiving the information, Helicopter EEC VN-8619 of the Southern Vietnam Helicopter Company and doctors from the Ho Chi Minh City-based Military Hospital 175 were sent to the island to fly the patient to shore.
Then the patient was taken to the hospital for further treatment.
