EC-225 helicopter takes injured fisherman ashore for treatment
PANO - On June 4, the EC-225 helicopter numbered VN 8619 of Corps 18 transported a fisherman named Phan Kiet from Song Tu Tay (Southwest Cay) Island to Hospital 175 for further treatment.
Previously, at around 8:30 a.m. on June 3, while fishing near Song Tu Tay Island in Truong Sa district, Khanh Hoa province, Kiet got his right arm entangled in a fishing line, causing it to be torn off and resulting in significant blood loss.

By 2:50 p.m. on the same day, Kiet was brought to the infirmary on Song Tu Tay Island by Vessel 471 from Naval Region 4 with multiple injuries. One third of his right upper arm was completely severed. He had closed chest trauma, a fractured fourth right rib, and soft tissue injuries on the face.
After initial health examination and an online consultation with Central Military Hospital 108, the island's medical team conducted an emergency surgery, and gave pain relief and antibiotics to the patient.

At 10:50 a.m. on June 4, the EC-225 helicopter carrying the patient safely landed at Military Hospital 175.
