Responding to the urgent request from local authorities, the brigade swiftly deployed more than 30 officers and soldiers, along with two Zil-131 trucks and two VSN-1500 boats, to the scene to begin rescue efforts.

Senior Colonel Nguyen Quoc Long, Commanding Officer of Engineering Brigade 414, directly led the forces in carrying out the mission.

Although many roads were cut off, and the floodwater was dangerously high, the engineering force quickly reached the isolated areas. They worked closely with Van An commune's authorities and local militia force to evacuate residents to safe shelters.

In Truong Son hamlet, many households were flooded from 1 to 1.5 meters, leaving daily life completely paralyzed. As soon as they arrived, the brigade’s officers and soldiers focused on evacuating the elderly, women, children, and essential belongings from the flooded areas. By 12 p.m. the same day, the rescue teams had successfully evacuated 12 households with dozens of residents to safety.

Engineering Brigade 414 continues to maintain its personnel and vehicles on standby, ready to respond to any new developments. The unit is also coordinating with local authorities to review and closely monitor households living along rivers, streams, and low-lying areas in order to continue further evacuation plans if necessary.

With a strong sense of responsibility, pro-activeness, and determination, the officers and soldiers of Engineering Brigade 414 once again affirmed their role as a reliable and steadfast force, a trusted support for local Party committees, authorities, and the people whenever natural disasters or floods strike.
